Hello, I'm Anastasia.

Moving to a new country can be exciting, but it can also leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. I know this not only as a counsellor, but through my own life experience.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in accounting. Although my career was stable, I realised I wanted to do work that felt more meaningful — work that allowed me to genuinely support people through life's challenges. That decision led me to psychology and counselling, and it became one of the most important turning points in my life.

Migration has also been a significant part of my own journey. I have experienced starting over more than once, including moving to Kazakhstan and later building a new life in Australia. Each move brought uncertainty, the challenge of adapting to a different culture, rebuilding routines, making new connections and learning how to feel at home again.

Alongside migration, my personal life has also been shaped by significant transitions. Building a family at a young age and becoming a stepmother taught me how relationships evolve through change, how new family roles can reshape our identity, and how important it is to stay connected to yourself while caring for the people you love.

Like many migrants, I also had to rebuild my professional identity after moving abroad. My previous qualifications were not fully recognised in Australia, which meant returning to study, improving my English and starting my counselling career from the beginning. It wasn't always easy, but it gave me a deep understanding of how migration can affect not only our circumstances, but also our confidence, identity, relationships and sense of belonging.

I don't believe moving abroad means leaving yourself behind. Sometimes, it becomes the beginning of rediscovering who you truly are.

These experiences taught me that migration is about much more than visas or learning a new language. It often changes the way we see ourselves. Many women tell me they no longer recognise the person they used to be. They feel isolated, question their decisions, struggle to make friends, lose confidence or notice that their relationships have changed since the move. I understand how overwhelming this can feel because I have experienced many of these challenges myself.

Today, I combine my lived experience with professional training and counselling practice to support women who are navigating life after relocation. I have been working with clients since 2024, helping women navigate relationship challenges, life transitions, and the emotional impact of major life changes.

My approach is informed by person-centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, I tailor each session to your unique experiences, goals and strengths.

I believe every person already has the inner resources they need for change. Sometimes, however, those resources become difficult to access during periods of uncertainty and transition. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

I work with women experiencing challenges such as migration and cultural adjustment, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions and feeling disconnected from themselves.

Sessions are available online, allowing me to support women wherever they are in the world.
